Hi! I am Jenny Stevning! Deb's husband, Luther Austin-Brecher, was my fifth grade teacher! Thankfully, they have been fans of my artwork for years.

In 1975, we moved in a new house. Painstakingly, my mom spent hours steaming off gold with black velvet wallpaper. One day, seeing fresh, bare walls, my brother and I decided to help re-wallpaper. I was 4. He was 5. Together we created a system. I would feverishly watercolor on a piece of paper, then he would generously coat the back of it with white glue and apply the paper to the wall. We were off to a good start! Then our mom came to see what we were up to.

She could have gotten angry, but she didn't.
And that made all the difference!

  why artburn?

What fills my time?  Raising a teenage daughter, spending time with family, working at Blue Mud Yoga, and always questioning why I don't spend more time on my artwork.

Recent accomplishment?  Completing my certification for The Khalsa Way Prenatal Yoga as taught by Gurmuhk at the Golden Bridge Yoga Studio. Skills?  Baking cookies and wearing too much eye make-up.
Color?  Orange...well, red...no, wait...blue.  Okay, orange.
Education?  Under my belt, I have an AA from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

My most prized material possession?  A metal Addams Family lunch box from 1975.  It sits on my mantle reminding me of the time when something as simple as a new lunch box, or a box of crayons, or time to play made everything okay.  Now as a grown-up, creating offers the same feeling!
